What’s on in Glasgow

In this case, V stands for Vegetarian and Vegan but all food lovers are welcome. Talks, tips and advice will be available from speakers and the Vegan and Vegetarian Society. The hall will be shared with the The Allergy & Free From Show.

Sat 3 – Sun 4 Mar 2018 Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Pursuits Show

This event is a fitness and outdoor enthusiast’s dream! All the big cycling and running brands will be there demonstrating their products many of which will benefit from great on-the-day offers. There will also be demonstrations, training and coaching tips and interactive elements such as running track, bike tracks, a zip wire and kid zones.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance will benefit immensely from this exhibition. Aside from some great food and drink to try there will be products that could help alleviate reactions, face-to-face chats with and talks by health experts and celebrity chefs will present entertaining cookery demonstrations. After four years of Glasgow hosting the Country to Country festival the 2018 festival will be held at the Hydro due to phenomenal public support. Headlining acts include Faith Hill & Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves and Little Big Town. Tickets for individual days or the whole weekend are available.

The era of big hair and shoulder pads may have long gone but the music lives on. Billed as “Three 80’s Legends – Together On One Stage” this is a unique opportunity to see some of the 80s most iconic musical artists preform their biggest hits such as Go Wests’ We Close Our Eyes, and King Of Wishful Thinking, Nik Kershaw’s Wouldn’t It Be Good and I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, and Cutting Crew’s classic (I Just) Died In Your Arms.

Progressive rock pioneers Yes celebrate 50 years of making groundbreaking music that secured their position as one of the most respected group of rock musicians in the world. Included in this special tour will be sides 1 and 4 and a Side 3 excerpt from their 1973 album Tales From Topographic Oceans as well as hits and classic tracks such as Roundabout, I’ve Seen All Good People and a few surprises.

The former One Direction star takes to the road to support his debut solo album Flicker. The setlist is expected to include the whole album as well as some cover versions and perhaps even a One Direction hit or two. Featuring Julia Michaels as special guest.

Tue 20 – Wed 21 Mar 2018 The Comedians at The King’s

This is your chance to take part in TV’s stand-up comedy show The Comedians. 24 comedians from the UK will hit the stage as part of the Whyte & Mackay Glasgow International Comedy Festival. The shows will feature comedians including Fred MacAuley, John Moloney, Gary Little, Richard Herring, Janey Godley, Ninia Benjamin and many more.

One of Scotland’s best loved all round entertainers brings her one woman show to the stage following TV successes with sitcom Two Doors Down and Burdz Eye View. The Burdz Eye View stage show will feature everything you’d expect from Elaine; funny and observant stand-up comedy, hilarious anecdotes and a few musical numbers.

The 2018 Unibet Preier League and the best darts player in the world return to the Hydro. The venue has proved a favourite with players and fans alike and this year local Scotsmen Gary Anderson and Peter Wright are set to be joined by current world champion Michael van Gerwen.

Singing sensation Sam Smith embarks on his biggest headline tour so far to showcase his The Thrill Of It All album. The Glasgow show at the Hydro is only the third date on the world tour which means Scottish fans will be among the first to hear Sam’s new songs live.

If you’re into golf even in a small way The Scottish Golf Show has something for you! As well as exhibits from Callaway, Ping, TaylorMade, Mizuno and many more there will be lots of fun golfing activities to try such as golf darts, bunker and chipping challenges as well as the chance to qualify for the World Longest Drive Championships.

Presenting The Ultimate Tribute To AbbaCan you believe it’s been 40 years since ABBA’s classic Dancing Queen hit the charts? This internationally renowned tribute show is an all-star celebration the Swedish of legends’ number one hits. Included in the show is a Bee Gees tribute band.

Fri 23 Mar 2018 International Challenge Match – Scotland v Costa Rica

These two teams haven’t played each other since 1990 when Costa Rica won 1-0. This will be an interesting game as Scotland are currently without a manager following Gordon Strachan’s departure and are building up to the 2018 UEFA Nations League.
