What’s on in Glasgow

The Railway Children

This is a stunning new stage adaptation of E. Nesbit’s family favourite The Railway Children popularised by the movie starring Jenny Agutter and Bernard Cribbins. If your kids have never seen it this is a great chance for them to experience this classic, uplifting story.

TRNSMT Festival

A brand new event to replace the T in the Park (the UK’s biggest festival outside Glastonbury), the TRNSMT Festival features headliners Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro.

For those who don’t know UFC is the Ultimate Fighting Championship which showcases the top mixed martial arts fighters in the world. Included in the international line up is Coatbridge’s Paul Craig who is guaranteed a huge boost from his home crowd.

Insomnia X Resonate

The Insomnia and Resonate gaming festivals join forces for Scotland’s biggest gaming event. As well as exports tournaments there will also be indie zone, retro zone, Minecraft area, VR zone and prominent YouTubers on hand to discuss gameplay and tactics.

Summer Nights at the Bandstand

This series of concerts has something for everybody: a wonderfully diverse array of artists covering many musical genres all set in the special atmosphere of the Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre. Atrists appearing include Texas, Tom Jones, Brian Wilson, Seasick Steve, The Pixies,Nick Lowe, Paul Carrack and Andy Fairweather Low.

IGNITION Festival of Motoring

Petrolheads will get a chance to experience all things cars and motoring when the IGNITION Festival of Motoring returns to Glasgow. Like last year, there will be a specially constructed street circuit which will see rally cars, Formula 1 racers, supercars and classic cars driven by world class drivers. As well as the driving action there will also be an impressive array of cars on show, a 70 years of Ferrari exhibition.

Céline Dion

Come and see singing sensation Céline Dion at the only Scottish date (he first in 21 years) on her LIVE 2017 UK and European Tour. Fans can expect to hear all the classic songs and hits from her illustrious career such as My Heart Will Go On, Think Twice and The Power of Love. Supported by Véronic DiCaire.

The iconic musical film of the 80s comes to the stage in Glasgow and tells the story of Alex (played by Joanna Clifton) and her dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Theatre goers can expect stunning choreography and a musical spectacle feratuing classic songs such as Gloria and I Love Rock & Roll.

Race The Roof

Join over 1000 entrants in this unique and first ever event of its kind in Scotland. From a staggered start runners will race around the Hydro and end up at the finish post high up on the arena’s roof. During and after the event there will be food and massages for all participants as well as live DJ sets to keep the atmosphere buzzing.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Prepare for an overdose of Rock ’n’ Roll nostalgia when the hit West End show comes to Glasgow. Set amidst the backdrop of the 1960s the show features songs from Roy Orbison and The Shadows and a host of iconic hits from subsequent decades.

Miranda Lambert

The last time this Country superstar played Glasgow was at the Country 2 Country Weekend in March 2016 where she was a smash hit. This time the Grammy Award winning singer will be on her solo Highway Vagabond Tour and performing hits such as “Mama’s Broken Heart”, “Little Red Wagon” and songs from her upcoming album.
