Wed 1 – Sun 12 Aug 2018 Festival 2018

Coinciding with the Glasgow 2018 European Championships is a 12 day festival based in the iconic George Square. With Great Big Opening Party featuring The Ayoub Sisters, Sacred Paws and C Duncan, Orbital performing on the Fri 10th, a spectacular carnival procession, food and drink from Scottish producers, art installations and even a cycle stunt show the entire city centre is sure to be buzzing with excitement.

Arts Festival George Square and various locations, Glasgow
Wed 1 – Sun 12 Aug 2018 Glasgow 2018 European Championships

This will be the first time that the European Championships for major sports will come together under one banner in one synchronised event staged in Glasgow and Berlin. Sports included are athletics (taking place in Berlin), swimming (diving held in Edinburgh), cycling, golf, artistic gymnastics, rowing and triathlon.

Summer in Glasgow is defined by this vibrant festival which includes a carnival procession, street performances, circus, street food and drink, music and comedy shows, talks and markets aplenty. Making a welcome return to the Festival is the Encontro Street Band Festival who will really get the place jumping with their spectacular mix of carnival and street band music.

Sun 5 Aug 2018 Devas Unleashed

From the creators of hit musicals Girls Night Oot and I Will Survive, Devas Unleashed is a fun night of singalong pop hots from the likes of Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Starring Sarah Galbraith (Phantom of the Opera and Broadway) Lauren Ellis-Steele (Wicked), Jennifer Neil (Legally Blonde) and Natalie Arle-Toyne (Hairspray).

Brand new from Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks comes all your favourite characters from the smash him movie as they make their escape from Central ark Zoo in New York and head to Madagascar. Thu 16 – Sat 25 Aug 2018 Frankie Boyle – Prometheus Volume III

Frankie Boyle’s Promethiad comes in eight flavours, we’ve tasted two (visit his website if you haven’t heard the free podcasts) and if you go along to his shows you’ll be served up the third course. The Glasgow comedian’s humour is not for everyone as it’s very close to the bone (touching it, in fact) and extreme but it’s also mixed with sharp wit and keen observations that comedy connoisseurs love.

Gary Mullen and the Works have rocked audiences around the world with their tribute show to rock icons Queen. Gary shot to fame when he won Stars In Their Eyes in 2000 with his uncannily realistic impersonation as Freddie Mercury and brings his amazing performance complete with the authentic look and sound of Queen to Glasgow for one night only.

Pop icon Britney Spears brings her four-year headlining residency show in Las Vegas to Glasgow! The show, held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, received rave reviews and regularly sold out, was voted “Best Show in Las Vegas” and “Best Bachelorette Show in Las Vegas.” We won’t give away any spoilers except to say that the show will feature plenty of Britney’s hits!

Thu 23 – Sat 25 Aug 2018 51 Shades of Maggie

Following 3 sell-out tours in Scotland, Gary: Tank Commander and River City star Leah MacRae returns as Maggie in this hilarious send up of 50 Shades of Grey. It’s an irreverent and very naughty story of “love, booze and whips” and due to strong language and adult themes is not suitable for under 16s.

Sat 25 – Sun 26 Aug 2018 Walking With Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular

There are plenty of dinosaur shows around the world but none compare with Walking With Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular. This $20 million production features incredibly life-sized recreations of 18 dinosaurs including Stegosaurus, Raptors and Tyrannosaurus-Rex. The show takes you through the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods and shows the fantastic dinosaurs which lived during these ancient times. It’s an incredibly immersive experience for kids and adults of all ages.

As well as being a massively successful (and funny) stand up comedian, Kevin Hart has starred in hit movies such as Central Intelligence, The Secret Life of pets and more recently Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. Following on the back of his largely sold out What Now tour, Hart’s Irresponsible Tour has already sold out many venues in the US and has received rave reviews.

Thu 30 Aug 2018 The ELO Experience

The ELO Experience are undoubtedly the premier ELO tribute band in the world. As well as playing Jeff Lynne’s songs in all their original glory the band bring with them an incredible light show with big screen and a stunning string section to complete the sound. Expect to hear hits including Mr Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Living Thing, Don’t Bring Me Down and Diary of Horace Wimp.

Fri 31 Aug 2018 The Chicago Blues Brothers – Motown Mission

This award-winning stage musical version of the classic movie The Blues Brothers is arguably the best in Europe.
