What’s on in Glasgow

Thu 8 June RCN Jobs Fair

This is the largest recruitment event in Scotland for nursing which sees big UK employers such as NHS Trusts, the armed forces, care homes and healthcare organisations converge to offer vacancies, many of which have immediate starts. There are also free seminars which count towards CPD requirements.

It’s rare that Scotland faces The Auld Enemy in a game of football and every time it’s a major event that gets both sides’ fans enthusiasm heightened to the max. This one is no exception as there’s a place in the World Cup Finals at stake!

Arthur Miller’s enduring allegorical morality tale of witch hunts in 1600s America. It’s a powerful story that’s brought to life in this new production starring Charlie Condou (Coronation Street) and Victoria Yeates (Call the Midwife).

Mon 12 – Sat 17 June Dreamboats and Petticoats

Prepare for an overdose of Rock ’n’ Roll nostalgia when the hit West End show comes to Glasgow. Set amidst the backdrop of the 1960s the show features songs from Roy Orbison and The Shadows and a host of iconic hits from subsequent decades.

Thu 15 – Fri 16 June Penn & Teller

“A magic and comedy act” doesn’t really define Penn and Teller properly although that is what they are. Truly mystifying illusions is their trademark along with their macabre sense of humour and their unique combination has made them stars of las Vegas, Broadway and cultural icons who have won strings of awards.

The hit TV series takes to the stage with stars of the show including Clare Bowen, Chris Carmack and Jonathan Jackson singing songs from the show along with original songs.

Sat 17 June Glasgow at Night Pink Ribbon Walk

The first Pink Ribbon Walk held at night was such as success it’s happening again this year! Taking part in the 5, 10 and 20 mile walks is an amazing buzz and takes you through some of Glasgow most famous sites and the city centre all to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

Sun 18 June Hans Zimmer Live on Tour

The legendary Hollywood movie composer plays music from his most famous films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, The Dark Night The Lion King and many more. Appearing onstage alongside Hans will be a 15 piece band, orchestra and choir.

In a rollercoaster of emotion, dance and music this brand new production brings the classic movie loved by millions to the stage featuring full dance ensemble and 35 hit songs including (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

Sat 24 June The Stone Roses

This is the legendary band’s only Scottish date of three Uk shows this year. Along with old favourites such Waterfall and I Wanna Be Adored as Ian Brown and Co will hopefully be playing tracks from their new album.

For classic rock lovers everywhere the iconic guitarist tours playing classic songs by Rainbow such as Stargazer, Since You’ve Been Gone and All night Long and Deep Purple’s Smoke On The Water, Black Night and Speed King.

Wed 28 June Jeff Lynn’s ELO

People can’t get enough of ELO these days with more dates announced for 2017 including this show in Glasgow. Together with songs from the critically acclaimed Alone In The Universe album expect to hear classic hits such as Mr Blue Sky, Livin’ Thing and Don’t Bring Me Down.

The Railway Children

This is a stunning new stage adaptation of E. Nesbit’s family favourite The Railway Children popularised by the movie starring Jenny Agutter and Bernard Cribbins. If your kids have never seen it this is a great chance for them to experience this classic, uplifting story.

TRNSMT Festival

A brand new event to replace the T in the Park (the UK’s biggest festival outside Glastonbury), the TRNSMT Festival features headliners Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro.
